December 2016 Work Areas

Over the past few months work has only been going on in a couple area since contract 1 has been completed and contract 3 will not start until next year.

Most of the work is being done in this area. A new ramp is being built from 295 south to 76 west (highlighted in red). This ramp starts at the top of the new ramp that was built along 295 south and will connect to the existing ramp to 76. Work is also continuing on the new ramp from 76 east to 295 north. The ramp is pretty much complete up to where it will go over 76. Recently work started on the parts that will go over 76.

October 2016

The interim ramp from 42 North to 295 North has opened which replaces the existing ramp. The new ramp being built from 76 east to 295 north passes over the old ramp and will be to low to allow traffic to pass under it, thus the need for the interim ramp.

This picture shows roughly where the new ramp.

August 2016

With the first contract wrapped up, and the third not starting until Winter, work is only happening on a few parts of the project.

Work on the retaining wall along the cemetery  is very visible now.

July 2016

Last week a new traffic pattern was introduced on 295 South just before the Al-Jo curve. The 295/76 split now happen a little earlier with the 295 traffic being diverted on the new ramp.

This ramp will eventually lead to 42 South but for now it joins with a temporary ramp that take you back down to the Al-Jo curve.

July 2016

The temporary ramp along 295 South before the Al-Jo curve is almost complete. Most of the barriers are in, it’s paved and the lights have been installed. Signs along 295 say that there will be a traffic pattern change on or about July 8th, so it appears that is when the ramp will open. Of course the governor’s executive order shutting down road work might effect this, I am not sure if this order impacts this project.

A very large crane is now on site in this area which will probably used to install the steel beams for the ramp.

Creek Road Overpass May 2016

Work is finally wrapping up on the Creek Road overpass.

The overpass is once again open to two way traffic, although some work is still being done along one side.

Photo Update May 2016

Work continues on the temporary bridge next to 295 Southbound before the Al-Jo curve. This image shows where the bridge is being built. This will allow traffic to be moved temporarily onto the new ramp to make room for construction of the new ramp from 295 South to 42 South.

Trees have been planted just beyond the work area on 295 South. This is one of many signs that Contract 1 of the project is starting to wrap up. Contact 2 is ongoing and Contract 3 will start this Fall.

Here is a look at the new ramp that runs along side the existing ramp to 295 South. This is viewed from the Bellmawr ball fields. You can see the supports for the noise barrier. The wall panels have started going in since this picture was taken.

April 2016

A lot of work has been done recently on the ramp that is being built between the current  295 South ramp just after the Al-Jo curve and the Bellmawr ball fields. The top of the ramp has been paved, barriers installed along the ball field edge and they have started putting up the noise barrier. This ramp will eventually become part of the new 295 main line overpass and will also connect to the new 76 East to 295 South ramp.

Work also continues on the new ramp at the other end of the Al-Jo curve. They have been working on this new ramp for quite a while. It will eventually serve as a new ramp to both 76 West and 42 South. In the short term this ramp will actually connect right back to the Al-Jo curve to make room for the construction of the new ramp. In this picture you can see the temporary end of the ramp that will slope back down to the Al-Jo curve. The concrete structure is the start of a temporary bridge that will go over the creek.,
