Missing Moves - March 2021

The steel for the first half of the new Creek Road overpass has been put in place. Once this new section is done, traffic will be diverted onto to it, the other half torn down, and the rest of the new bridge built.

Here is a look at the new part of the Creek Road overpass from underneath. The steel support on the left is temporary and was used to hold up the steel while it was being assembled.

Here is a look at the progress on the ramp to 295 South.

It’s hard to see in these pictures, but progress has been made on the new center supports for the bridge widening over Big Timber Creek.

A few weeks ago I saw the concrete support by the crane in median between 295 North and South. A week or two ago I notices it had tipped over and last week it was gone. Not sure what happened here.

Retaining Wall Collapse

Earlier with week part of the retaining wall that forms the side of the new 295 mainline partially collapsed. No word on the cause yet, but would have to guess that the earth at the base of the wall gave way causing the middle of the wall to slide down and pulling that section of the wall down. At the top of the second picture you can see the edge of the paved roadway where the collapsed section broke away and dropped several feet. Currently the left lane of 295 North is closed from Essex Ave up to Black Horse Pike while they work to stabilize the collapse. The collapsed section is far enough back from the road that I don’t expect this lane closure to last to long.

You can see a video of the damage in this article:
