Missing Moves–December 2020

Here is a look at the overpass supports being built between 42 and Benigno Ave.

A lot of excavation is being done along 42 North down towards the 55 exit ramp. The road will be widened here leading up to the new ramp to 295 south. This pictures shows the sheet pile being installed along 42.

Here is another view from Benigno Ave.

Poles have been relocated around the new road that will connect Edgewood Ave to Benigno Ave.

A look at the work along 295 north above the Creek Road overpass. You can see how the work area curves to the right towards Creek Road  just beyond the building.

A new support for the mainline overpass has been constructed along the south bound side of 76/42 just before the split to 295 south.

November 2020–Missing Moves

Work along 295 North above the Creek Road overpass. The road is being widened here to accommodate the exit ramp to 42 South. Just beyond the building is a excavated area that curves towards Creek Road where the ramp will go.

Work along 295 South in preparation for construction of the ramp from 42 North. A large pile of earth has also appeared in the area recently which I assume is going to be used to build the ramp.

November 2020–Direct Connect

Here are some pictures of the new supports that have been built near the cemetery. These will carry the new 295 main line over Rt 42.

October 2020–Missing Moves

Here is a look at the work along 295 South just above creek road. It looks like they may be doing grouting to stabilize the ground here before they start building the ramp.

They have cleared space on the other side of the Creek Road overpass to make room for construction of the new overpass.

Here is a look at the new road that will connect Edgewood Ave to Benigno Ave.

This structure between Benigno Ave and 42 will be the transition between the ground based ramp from 42 North to the overpass.

A temporary retaining wall has been built along the back of the warehouse that is between Creek Road and 295 North. You can also see they are excavating between the wall the the road.

The concrete wing wall has been cut off the Creek Road overpass abutment. This was needed to make room for the first part of the new overpass.

Here is a look at the work on the Big Timber Creek bridge.

A temporary retaining wall has been build along the side of Creek Road to make room for the first part of the new overpass.

September 2020–Missing Moves

A lot of progress has been made on the overpass supports near Coolidge Ave.

These appear to be supports for where the overpass will transition into a ground based part of the ramp.

On the left you can see the concrete form that is used to create the top portion of the support.

Some interesting work on the Direct Connect project this week. They have started to build more of the overpass supports by the cemetery.

September 2020–Missing Moves

Quick update today. Part of the Creek Road bridge structure has been removed and the end of middle support cut off. This is to make room for the new bridge which will be built next to the current one.

Missing Moves–Lead Ave Exit

As part of the Missing Moves project the exit connecting 42 to Leaf Ave will be re-configured. Here is a rough sketch of what it will look like. The exit will move a short distance south along Benigno Ave. Benigno will also be shifted to line up with Edgewood Ave. The current exit will be removed along with a small section of Benigno.

Here is a look at the current work going on at the bridge over Big Timber Creek

The support for the ramp going to 295 South. I believe they will be building retaining walls on either side of this structure to form the end of the ramp.

A bed of gravel has been put down where the end of the ramp will be.

Here is the same area looking down from Creek Road.

Demolition has started on the Creek Road overpass. Part of it will need to be removed before they can start building the new overpass which will be slightly further north then the current one.
