Direct Connect February 2026

Over the last few weeks they have begun to install the steel structure of the new 295 mainline overpass. The section currently being built is the south bound section below Browning Road and will connect to the ground based section that has recently been built. This section doesn't go over any active portions of the highway so I assume this was done without any lane clousures. Evenutally they will need to put in steel over the highway which will require nighttime lane clousures.

Direct Connect January 2026

The removal of the bridge abutment for the temporary Browning Road overpass is almost complete. You can see the temporary retaining wall that was behind it. They will now complete the concrete retainin wall and join it to the permannt bridge abutment.

Just south of the Browning Road overpass a temporary support has bee installed which will be used when the steel for the main line overpass is installed.

This week they have started to remove the temporary bridge abutment that was holding up the termporary Browning Road overpass. Here is a picture from Tuesday..

This picture is from Wednesday. You can see a couple feet of the abutment has been removed and exposed the I-beam and wood retaining wall behind it. Once removed the mechancially stablized earth retaining wall will be completed up to the overpass.

Direct Connect December 2025

There hasn't been a lot of progress recently that is easy to photograph, but I did find the Google Earth was updated recently for that area. Here is a picture from October of 2025.

Here I have marked up the location of the new overpasses in red and the support beams in yellow. Most of the columns for the supports are complete and some of the beams are already on site waiting to be installed. At the top of the picture you can see the two sections where steel beams have already been installed.
