 Here is a look at the progress on the raised section that will bring the north bound traffic on 295 up to the new mainline overpass. 

More steel has been set leading up to the Browning Road overpass.

There has a been a lot of work going on all around the Browning Road Bridge Area.

A few weeks ago a new traffic pattern was put in place that shifted the traffic coming off the Al-Jo curve and going to 42 South further to the left so it now merges close to the Browning Road overpass. This actually brings this merge back to the way it was a long time ago. 

This lane shift has opened up room to build the four remaining support columns which they have started to dig foundations for. 

Here is a look at the progress on the raised section that will bring the north bound traffic on 295 up to the new mainline overpass. The wall to the right is the section that will carry the south bound 295 traffic. 

At the other side of the overpass all the steel has been set on the section. 

While all this work is going on, more pieces of steel are being staged. These are sitting on the shoulder along 295 South just above the Al-Jo curve. These appear to be the pieces that will span between the column over the highway and will support the beams that actually carry the road. 

More steel pieces are being staged in this area between 76 and 295 where the pumping station is. 

One final piece is staged by the southern end of the overpass likely where it will eventually be installed.

A major milestone was reached this week when the first steel was set for the new 295 main line overpass. There beams connect the newly reconstructed section to the first pier by the Browning Road overpass.

The temporary Browning Road bridge has been complete dissasembled and removed. The crane in that area was used to assemble a support column in the location where the bridge was. 

The foundation for this column had been built before the temporary Browning Road bridge was installed, so once removed this column went in very quickly. This will eventually carry the new 295 main line overpass over Browning Road. 

On the church side of the Browning Road overpass they have cleared away the approach to the termporary bridge. 

Here is a look at the area where the ramp from 42 South to 295 South used to be. They have now started to construct the south end of the new 295 main line. The steel columns are where the bridge abutment will be for the overpass. You can also see the start of the retaining wall that will form the raised portion of the road.

The temporary Browning Road overpass has been fully pulled back into the staging area by the cemetary where it is being disassembled. They have also removed the termporary supports that were used to remove the bridge and have started to demolish the temporary concrete columns in the middle.

The second move of the temporary Browning Road overpass has been completed, now just leaving the extended portion hanging over the road. They have also begun to disassemble the temporary supports that were put in place to help with the bridge removal.

The first phase of the removal of the temporary Browning Road overpass has been completed. Overnight the bridge was pulled back onto an open piece of land by the cemetary leaving it sitting on just one of the two temporary supports. Over the next few weeks that section will be dismantled and then a second pull will happen to remove the rest of it.

Browning Road Overpass July 2025

Prep work continues for the removal of the temporary Browning Road overpass. The bridge deckings has been mostly removed. There is one section left that I assume is staying for some reason. The bridge if no longer connected to the middle support columns and is now on rollers on the temporary columns. 

On the cemetary side the area where the bridge will be pulled off into is being prepped.  The area has been cleared and tracks with rollers are being put in place. The bridge will be pulled into this area and disassembled section by section. 

A sloped extension has been added to the other side of the bridge. I believe this is to allow the bridge to deflect downward as it is removed until it pulled far enough back to balance out.

With the new Browning Road overpass complete and the rebuild of the collapsed section nearing completion attention has turned to building the support columns that will eventually hold up the new 295 overpass. Here is a picture of that area thanks to 42 Freeway.  

Here I have marked up the purpose of each of the columns. Blue will be for 295 South, Red will be for 295 North and yellow will be the new ramp from 42 North to 295 North. These structures will be a combination of supports built earlier int he project and new ones being built between the north and south bound lanes of 42. One more set of support will eventually be built between the two sets of south bound 42 lanes.
