It has been over two years since a section of the new 295 main line retaining wall collapsed, but today work to rebuild this section finally ramped up. If you would like to read details of report on the reasons for the collapse there is a great article over at 42 Freeway on this:

Work progressing in a number of areas. An excavator in the lower left appears to be taking down more of the front retailing wall. More excavators are up on top removing the roadbed. Finally on the right is a crane removing the retaining wall along the back of this section.
