August 2017

Now that the new 76 East to 295 North ramp is open work has started on removing the old ramp. This pictures shows that the bridge over the original 295 North ramp has been removed. Eventually the ramp from 42 North to 295 North will shift over into this area.

The North bound 295 lanes just above 42 have been shifted slightly left to make room for work on the retaining wall between 295 and the cemetery to continue. You can see equipment has been moved into place to resume work.

76 East to 295 North Ramp

The new ramp from 76 East to 295 North opened earlier this week. The ramp starts at the same place as the old ramp but it joins up the 295 North lanes very close to the Black Horse Pike exit providing very little time to very over to the exit if you are are coming from the ramp. At some point in the near future the ramp for 42 North will shift further to the left and merge with this new ramp closer to where it used to merge. All of this work will clear enough room to build the new 295 main line flyover. Here are some pictures of the new ramp.

Temporary light poles have been installed along the new ramp 76 East to 295 North. This ramp comes down between the current 295 North and South bound lanes. You can see the cars coming off the current ramp in the background of the first picture.

More work going on next to the ramp from 76 East to 295 South just before Essex Ave. This is the start of the process to expand the new roadway that was built along the Bellmawr ball fields in earlier contracts to what will become the new 295 mainline.

Here are some not so great pictures of the progress of the new units for the Bellmawr Park Mutual Housing project.

July 2017

The majority of the work on the project continues to be along 295 from the Al-Jo curve down to the Essex Ave overpass.

The third sign structure that was over the road has been removed. Since this picture was taken it has been scrapped.

Work going along between the church and the end of the Al-Jo curve. They have started to install steel pilings along the top edge of the hill. I assume this will be for a temporary retaining wall so they can excavate to where the new edge of the highway will be. Eventually the ramp from 76 East to 295 South will go into this area.DSC02173

Temporary signs have been installed to replace the overhead sign structure that was removed. This area by the Bellmawr ball fields has been cleared and it appears that it’s being used a staging area. Eventually the partial ramp that was built in the first contract will extend into this area.

May 2017

A small section of new paving has been done next to the current ramp from 42 North to 295 North. When the new ramp from 76 East to 295 North is complete, the 42 ramp will shift over into this location and will join up with the 76 ramp closer to the median.
