April 2016 Part 2

 

Here is a look at the new ramp that runs along side the existing ramp to 295 South. This is viewed from the Bellmawr ball fields. You can see the supports for the noise barrier. The wall panels have started going in since this picture was taken.

 

The staging area along Essex Ave have been cleaned up.

 

Now that the new Essex Ave overpass is almost complete the area around the VFW has been cleaned up.

 

The southern side of the new Creek Road overpass is almost complete.

 

Work going on under the end of the new Creek Road bridge.

 

A new sign structure has been installed on 295 between Black Horse Pike and Bell Road.

 

More paving has been done along 295 South between Bell Road and the new ramp.

April 2016

A lot of work has been done recently on the ramp that is being built between the current  295 South ramp just after the Al-Jo curve and the Bellmawr ball fields. The top of the ramp has been paved, barriers installed along the ball field edge and they have started putting up the noise barrier. This ramp will eventually become part of the new 295 main line overpass and will also connect to the new 76 East to 295 South ramp.

 

 

 

Work also continues on the new ramp at the other end of the Al-Jo curve. They have been working on this new ramp for quite a while. It will eventually serve as a new ramp to both 76 West and 42 South. In the short term this ramp will actually connect right back to the Al-Jo curve to make room for the construction of the new ramp. In this picture you can see the temporary end of the ramp that will slope back down to the Al-Jo curve. The concrete structure is the start of a temporary bridge that will go over the creek.,

March 2016

Work continues on the new ramp for 76 east to 295 north.

 

Here you can see the top of the new retaining wall being build along 76 east. The steel beams sticking up will be the start of the new overpass. You can see the concrete support for the other end in the background.

 

Work along the edge of the cemetery continues. In this picture you can see some green rebar sticking up out of the pit which I assume is for retaining walls.

 

In this picture you can see them pumping concrete in that area.

 

The retention pond within the 295 to 168 ramp has been cleaned up and a fence has been put around it.

 

Work continues at the new ramp along the right side of 295 S before the Al-Jo curve. The fence along the edge has been removed and they have started to fill in between the ramp and the edge of the road.

February 2016

They continue to install the noise barriers along 295 South between Black Horse Pike and the Essex Ave overpass.

 

Along I-295 South they have started doing ground stabalization work next to the partial ramp that was built earlier in the project. I assume this is to allow them to complete the other side of the tamp.

Along the ramp from 42 s to 295 s

A lot of work is going on for the new ramp from 76 east to 295 N. The existing ramp has been pushed to the right to make room for the new construction.

 

Pilings have been installed for one side of the new overpass

One of the support structures for the overpass is complete along the west bound side of 76.

Work has begun on a support structure in the median.

January 2016

 

It’s been a while since I have done an update. There has been a lot going on but I have a hard time getting pictures this time of year.

With the old 295N to 42 ramp removed they were able to complete the end of the new ramp.

The ramp from 76 East to 295N will eventually be replaced. Here you can see the form work for the end of the new ramp. This is seen from the 42 N to 295 N ramp. This work is much further along now.

Here is a look at the Creek Road overpass. The steel has been set since this photo was taken.

A little more asphalt has been added to what will eventaully become the temporary from from 42 N to 295 N.

They have started to install the noise barriers along 295 S from the railroad bridge down to the Bell Road overpass.

October 2015

Work continues next to the ramp to 295 South just above Essex Ave. They continue to expand the retaining wall along the ball field which has been under construction for a while now.

 

Here is a view of the wall from the ball field.

The wall now continues along the staging area up to Essex Ave. The 295 South overpass will eventually end in this area.

The final section of the Essex Ave bridge re-build is well under way. Here you can see the new support for the southern end of the bridge. The northern side support is also under construction and a little further along then this one.

The other half of the Creek Road bridge is in the works. You can see the center support being built and the start of the support on the south bound side of 42.

The end of the old 295 North Ramp to 76 has been removed, so you can see right under the new ramp. On the left side of the picture you can still see the concrete support for the ramp that is in the 42 median.

 

 

The sound barrier has started to go up along 295 South below Black Horse Pike.

The ramp from 76 South to 295 North has been shifted over to the newly constructed lanes and work has begun along the inside of the ramp.

Work continues between 295 North and the cemetery. What you see here are two sheet pile wall and the angled piling between them. They have done some excavation between the wall and have installed pilings into this area.

Late August 2015

Work continuous on the next section of the ramp at the start of the Al-Jo curve. They appear to be doing grouting for ground stabilization.

Now that the ramp to 295S has been shifted towards the middle, work has picked up along the right side of the road at the Essex Ave overpass.

The last old section of the Essex Ave overpass is being demolished. The road deck and support beams have been removed already.

 

The other half of the Creek Road overpass has also been demolished.
